The paint scheme somehow reminds me of a slot car or a Transformer toy.
But in fairness, the car seems fairly well-loved
Was there a race car or TV car perhaps with this paint scheme?
(Maybe a German version of Starsky and Hutch?)
Did Porsche do some sort of two-tone thing back in the day?
Seems I see several bipolar paint jobs pop up over and over.

Burning Brakes
First thing I thought about when I saw Louisville and a top-painted car, was hail damage. If in a hail storm, that would have been a cheap way to "fix" the top sides of the car. Maybe the reason, who knows. But it was what came to my mind, first.
