Default Power Steering Pump

My power steering pump is leaking badly. Will it damage pump to drive with low/no fluid until I can fix it. It makes a terrible noise but I'm down to one car right now. Thanks!

The pump is already toast. If you have the biceps for it - cut the belt.

Cut the belt. You can get a rebuild kit for the pump. Likely just the seal around the pulley shaft.

It is an easy rebuild of the pump. Just make sure when you split the pump that you note how the little fins are oriented. They easily fall out because they are just loosely in the slots which allows them to slide in the slots depending on the centrifugal force of the rotation. There are lots of You-tube videos explaining step by step how to do it. BTW, the 944 steering pump is very similar.
