drivers turn signal fron and rear suddenly do not work on my 79

Default drivers turn signal fron and rear suddenly do not work on my 79

i initially recieved a brake light warning on dash,then turn signals stopped on drivers side,right side works fine.i replaced turn signal bulbs front and back and checked fuses 30 31 ,actually all of them at floor .what else can i check?

Try the emergency flashers. That uses all the turn signals at one time. If they all come on then I'd bug out the wiring to the turn signal switch.

emergency flashers work in all 4 corners,im assuming its the turn signal switch itself,may try to replace it with a used one from 928 international

Had the same problem and fixed it by spraying some CRC CO Contact Cleaner into the switch next to the stalk followed by CRC 2-26 (quick spray) to protect it.

Didn't need to take it apart.

Use the wiring diagram to figure out what's wrong. Throwing a new turn signal at it may not work. I like Mr. Swede's idea, too. It may be the connector so unplug/replug that and see what happens.

Yes, depending on your definition of "too much".

Steering wheel, lower trim pieces and multi switch (turn signal switch).

Dwayne's writeup on the Pod removal covers it.

My first suggestion would echo some of the above suggestions. Pull the multi switch, clean the connections, clean the switch. DeOxit is what I'd use. YMMV.

took your advice and sprayed electrical contact cleaner into switch while still in place,now blinkers work fine.thanks for all your help
