Default 928GTS Spare, Air Compressor, etc.

Here's stowage format from what I can gather per the owner's manual. What I don't have is the original compressor - and it's not a big plastiky case thing either. The owner's manual shows a smaller one, like the store bought unit I re-branded.

Is there a 92-95 air compressor out there?

I found the tie-down bolt in our parts stock, not sure if that meets original too, but it is a Porsche part.

PS: Since we're splitting hairs, I saw this cover on EBAY but doesn't look right to me. Certainly not GTS-like, and if it were S4 I thought there was a gold decal on them:

I've got the factory compressor, in the big case, in the spare like yours. The jack, is located behind the tool cover.

If you are splitting hairs, particularly about the originality of items, You may not be interested in the Spare Tire Cover that I fabricate. However it is fully formed as with the originals and it is about one tenth of the price of the original-looking one on eBay. Mine are $90 plus S&H. Do a search and you can find some pictures of mine. I too do not offer the gold colored sticker because I have yet been unable to locate the correct material to make then out of. There are at least two versions of that sticker and the design is not a problem, just the correct material. My Spare Tire Cover is made out of 3/16 inch thick black ABS plastic with a tiny pebble-like surface on the top side which is called "haircell." I don't have one in stock now but I can make one to order--I do have the material ready to form. The S&H to domestic locations is $20--more for foreign.

By the way, I think the spare hold down bolt you show is for something like the 944. The ones for the 928 do not have to eye on top so the tire pump will fit in the spare recess.

(Edit) I reread your post and will add that my Spare Tire Cover is much like the original, but it does not incorporate the extensive foam sound deadening insulation the the factory put in the ones for the GTS. If you have the foam, others have put it into my Cover.

Here's a picture of Jerry's cover with a sticker I made a couple years ago. As Jerry mentions, I attached the foam insulation to the new cover too. imho, Jerry's cover is a thousand times better than the original.

Like Jerry, my tire hold-down is a bolt and not a wingnut. But I don't know if that's right.

The tire inflator should be in the small case (as seen in the owner's manual.) I was pretty dissapointed in the condition of those available and the price so I bought a new no-name brand and made some Porsche looking stickers that go inside the case. Not my best work, but it looks similar to the originals you see on e-bay for that era. I'm now wondering if 928 Intl has them available with their 1/2-price sale(?)

For the real hair splitting, you should also have a set of plastic gloves (so hands didn't get dirty when changing a tire.) I don't have a picture though--they're tucked away in a storage box. 928 Intl may have those too. Good luck!

I do have the spare cover, it's flipped over. Jerry - nice to know your detail / supply them. The decal I was going from my 10yo memory of the last one I saw (I think we sold it for chump change). We get decals made from Torstamp in Ontario for other stuff, they might have something suitable. they are a good shop.

We also use other suppliers. I can make decals here just using mylar and a printer. I made a paint door jamb decal yesterday looks rad!

Correct too on the 944 Bolt. I had to cut it down so I figured it was for the 944. I do have a bolt for the GTS, but it's just a regular bolt - and wondering "did I put that in there?" Why would they spec a hex bolt? I've had this thing for what 15 years.

Back to the compressor (edit - thanks n/vector for posting the pix!!) - the owner's manual
shows a box about 4"x6", the jack and first aid kit, all inside the spare. Your faux compressor had me fooled. I just looked on Ebay you know ~$1000 for these.

OMG I need a first aid kit, and the gloves too. How will I ever survive my next concour without it ?

Good question does 928Intl have that part?
