Coolant warning light
a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that when I turned the key on my 1981 928, all the warning lights on the dash lit up as normal EXCEPT the coolant light. I checked the coolant level, it was fine. I figured the coolant bulb burned out in the dash. Today, went to drive the car, turned the key and all the warning lights lit up INCLUDING the coolant light. Loose bulb?

I'd say yes you are on the right path, now you need to decided is it worth pulling the pod to clean and reinstall it.
Or if you do remove the Pod, clean all the connections and replace all the old bulbs.

May be the sensor wires to the coolant level sensor. I do not know where they are exactly , but I read in another post that if this connection is bad, (if this IS your problem your's must be intermittent), or not connected the light will not come on at all. Let me know if you know where these wires are

Sounds like the coolant level sensor is bad. I had same problem and new sensor fixed the issue. The part was NLA for a while but a new supply came online and Roger fixed me up.

The foil and plastic circuit on the back of the pod degrades over time....plus the tabs for the connecting plugs from the harness get broken... causes no circuit loose connection.
