Default Rear latch upper repair

So while I was at Sharktoberfest I purchased a new plastic upper rear latch part. When I was asked by Tom if I had the factory alarm I said yes. Well today was the day to tear the latch apart. I drilled out the roll pin and punched the two small dowel pins out of the housing. When I opened it up.... Wrong part. How could a car with a factory alarm have a non alarm rear lock? My car is a 84. Anyone ever see this before? I just ordered the correct plastic part from Mark and for now will just drive my Harley VRod.

Seen it before, most likely the original broke and someone didn't want to spend the big $$ on the alarm lock. My 86.5 was like that, and from the remnants of broken glass under the carpet I suspect it was due to a burglary attempt. The PO then went the cheap route...

Does your car have the alarm wiring connector in the hatch? It has a 2 pin Molex style connector I think.

Cheers!

I'll have to look. But I bypassed it long ago
