A little more time and they'll be back to Jim D, he can lease his early press car back to them in lieu of sale/curatorship.

 

I'm part of the "next generation." None of them have a hope in hell of working on a 928 if they haven't dove into them head first. I.E an A/C system complete overhaul, what and adventure...

They will think like with newer cars, replace all parts that could cause the issue, not find the issue and fix it because you can't simply plug a computer into it to tell you what is wrong (yes I know 88+ can do that but it is very limited info anyway).

I feel bad for whatever 928 they buy, as no doubt bolts will be stripped many times and everything won't be properly torqued. I just hope they don't thrash the valve train after doing a timing belt change...

 

Perhaps we're mis-thinking the purpose of Porsche Classic.
