On my 89 the rear interior hatch trim doesn't stay in place. There seems to be some clips that are either broken off, or missing. The PO, used clear silicone cement to hold them in place.
Any way how do I remove them for repair or replacement? Looks like a cover button at the bottom of the trim, just don't to break any thing, and make it worse. These are the right and left side pieces.
Joe,
Not exactly clear as to which piece of the hatch trim/lining you're referring to. The two pieces on either side around the curved windows have clips/pins as well as a screw. I remember when I popped mine out they were kind of like popping off the door card. The clips were a little different than the doors, and did require a little force to get out and back in. A pic or two would clarify
If you are talking the two side trim pieces, there is a metal clip that attaches to the hatch frame and there should be a plastic lip on the trim piece that slides into it.
I found that a few of the plastic lips on the trim had broken off over time, which was leading to some adherence issues.
You can see the metal clip between the two dangling pieces of velcro in the attached pic.
