I was just thinking how I wish Sharktoberfest was a monthly GTG. Then I remembered Trius (Drachen) told me once about a semi-regular GTG at Portillos in Buena Park. Does this GTG still happen or would anyone be interested in getting this mini-tradition started again? Buena Park works for me, but Im also open to other locational suggestions if it meant a bigger turnout. Thoughts and suggestions welcomed. Josh

The Portillos gathering was a very much hit-or-miss event. Sometimes a group, other times nobody there. Too many 'other' things to do around there I guess.

Seems like it died when you moved. Bummer. Well I'm still game for ideas. Was thinking of checking out the Pelican thing next time it comes around, but a 928 gathering would be better.

Yeah would have to be before or after traffic. Maybe a Friday night, or Sunday morning. Hopefully some more will chime in with interest.

The Portillos gatherings were Trius and his Volvo buddies, some of whom gravitated to 928's. I suspect that the coordination was done other ways than in 928 circles, cuz I would go when one of the 928 guys shared the schedule here. He moved to Phoenix and I lost touch. Get with Trius and he'll get you on board I'm sure. Gatherings were Saturday evenings so traffic was less an issue. I came down from Glendale, Trius from NoHo area, others from OC cities.

So far I haven't had time to chase down groups and gatherings where we landed in Oregon. I'll get to it I promise. I put gas in the car once or twice this year, so you know how much its been driven. Vs six tanks local in the Honda DD, plus four more for a family-emergency dash back to SoCal a month or three ago. I put miles on rental cars, but that needs to wind down soon and seriously.

I might just go over to portillos on Saturday night just to see what's up. What's the worse that could happen ? I have an awesome Italian beef sandwich and a fishbowl size beer. Not too shabby
