Default Does anyone know this GT ?

http://m.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-928-GT...203?nav=SEARCH

Just curious if anyone know the history of this GT.
COA states GTS. Not sure if that's a typo.

It seems tempting. But I would like to have a PPI done.
I guess Greg Brown would be the ideal man.

Your input would be greatly a appreciated.

I would prefer a GTS 5spd.....but none are for sale...at least I don't know of any.

Here is one albeit with a rebuilt title. Have no knowledge of this car.

It's certainly a GT, not a GTS.

"If it didn't have any leaks and didn't need anything and was a perfect car I'd be asking twice the price."

That scares me.....

Hi NinJaxz750,

My thoughts exactly....
I will ask seller if willing to do a PPI at Greg Brown.

He had an $18,000 high bid that he sold it for last week. Perhaps the buyer didn't like it? I don't recall the statement about asking twice as much if it didn't need anything in the last listing.

Anyone that looks at that engine compartment and not understand that there's a couple of grand of deferred maintenance/ midlife crisis management there is going to be a bit disappointed. A Black/gray 91GT, everything's there except the correct rad and radio, great cosmetics, no cracks in the dash (that I can see) with a clean carfax for 18K? Are you kidding me? Bar-gain.

(I'd have it in the backyard as my next refurb project if I could fit it through the side gate. (Shoulda installed the rear garage door like I'd planned. Oh well...)

I agree at $18k that is a steal.

I talked to the original owner when I was building the 928 Registry and he told me the car was stolen by an ex-girlfriend when they split. He reported it stolen and the authorities subsequently found it after the insurance paid off. That's the best recollection of the story I have. Do not recall if she did any damage or not but, my memory is that she didn't. Often wondered what happened to this GTS....

Well, here is the complete story from when I first gathered info on this GTS:

I was close on what I remembered....

I have been tempted by this gt also, and it's at a price that I would buy it at. However, something about the carfax bothers me.

First page of the carfax was printed by "Martin auto group" on 10/9/2015, but the more detailed recent records of 2nd and 3rd pages of the carfax is printed on 8/26 with miles going from 125,000 on 1/2015 to 139,000 as listed by 10/2015. I wonder what other details are missing from carfax from 1/2015 to 10/2015.

Otherwise, I like this gt better than the one I passed up in Seattle back in March of this year at the same price and miles, a '91 gun metal gray with same options.

Trying to convince my spouse to allow me to park some cars on the grass so that I can get this GT

Why wouldn't you do your due diligence and pull a Carfax and Autocheck independent of what any seller posts? It's cheap insurance. I'd do that and have a knowledgeable Porsche tech do a PPI.... If you're getting a bad feeling there's probably a good reason?
