The zinc coating on those is a solvent-carried metal spray, not a direct metal spray or hot dip galvanizing. Hence the warning to not clean them, especially with brake-clean or similar-- it will wash the metal coating off. Ok to use detergent and water.

The last set of rotors I got had two with that spray-on zinc finish plus two without. I brought the 'withouts' up to standard with some CRC Instant Cold Galvanizing spray, followed by a couple coats of silver wheel paint and some clear to protect that. I invested some more of the CRC stuff in the internal fins in the rotors too, but no paint in there.

I still have the original pads in the Honda Pilot (same as Adamant1971's Odyssey situation), same issues mentioned previously about pad not suitable for the service. So I drive really carefully so I don't cook the pads, plate off unevenly on the rotors, and end up with pulsing-pedal syndrome again. For sure it needs better pads to start with, then I'll be looking for better rotors to go with them. The Honda brakes are tiny relative to the 928 S4 brakes. Yet the Honda came with 18" open-spoke wheels to help expose the mini-rotors. Or maybe that was intended to help keep the brakes cool? They sure don't look cool...
