Talking Huston we have a big problem

I was trying to get my injectors swapped withe my new 24#.

I installed the injectors in the rail and installed the rail.

It didn't seem Right so I pulled it off.

Here is the problem. When I pulled them off one of the injectors left the o ring and the cap in the hole. I pulled the o ring out with a pick.
As I touched the cap it fell in the hole....

So my question is.... Is it direct injection.. Into the cylinder or into the intake port.

Any ideas hownto get it out?

It will burn up on combustion so no worries if you can't get it out. I carry the pintle caps.

That is reassuring.
The plastic ring above the o ring dissapeared also...

Can use these off the other injectors?

I was freaking out that it would get stuck in a valve

Try your shop vac. If it fell in it will come back out. Remove a spark plug if necessary to provivde a source for motive airflow.

Like Roger said.

But have you looked inside?
Maybe you can see it. If you can see it, I'm sure there's a way to get it out!

It happened to me when I did my last intake removal and I was able to get it out.
Don't remember how though.

Good luck.

Edit: Good suggestion dr bob.

I got mine out with a shop vac and small clear tubing. Not a big deal if you don't get it out. Engine will chew it up and spit it out with no issue. Hell. My car chewed up and spit out an intake nut and didn't do much more than pound the crap out of the top of the cylinder. I wouldn't have known if my head gasket didn't rot away.

Thanks guys.
Tried removing with compressor and blow gun with spark plug removed.
No love

Got the replacement part from local autozone..... Thanks again...
They are all in.

So I assume I will need to drive it some so the computer will learn ?

FWIW when fitting the fuel injectors to the rails and the manifold,
I suggest to put some Dow Corning 111 on the O ring
