Hi Roger,

Thanks for the pics....yikes! What a sleeper.
My kids would luv that....when we visit the inLaws we take a special on ramp.
The on- ramp has a steep incline and long approach and it's lane protected.
Imagine that in an AMG instead of 2011 Odyssey.

Well, I guess a 928GTS 5spd would be more fun, especially for me.
I better stay focused and stick to seeking another 928GTS 5spd.

Gents... yes, there are those of us that have both. For as long as it's hand-assembled and made in/near Stuttgart, I don't discriminate.

A gaggle of 928s and AMGs is definitely the right combination.

Yes but adding AMG to my collection would be upstaging my S4, sort of like Jennifer Lawrence versus Sofia Loren.

Nah... they are different enough in character that they complement each other nicely. I drive and occasionally track both my GT and my C63 coupe, and while the latter is a monster, the GT has this "analogue" quality that is hard to quantify but that the AMG definitely lacks. They're really the best of their respective worlds. The 928 is like flying a Spitfire whereas the AMG is a Boeing 737.

Now, the AMG GT does have me somewhat conflicted... it handles like a dream, has the 928 transaxle layout and body proportions and even looks like a 928 - with 500+ hp on tap.

MB made that car look like a 928 to laugh at Porsche for their lack of motivation to create a real GT car again.

I wholeheartedly agree... the bad part for Porsche (and good for MB) is that they succeeded. The AMG GTS is an amazing car - and not just a "GT" although at the push of a couple of buttons it certainly can be one. In the last three weeks I spent four full days driving one around Mosport (CTMP), and I'd take one over any Porsche except a GT3 (or a 918). It is a better car overall than a 991 Turbo and chaper to boot.

More like Sofia Vergara vs Sofia Loren. But that's just me.
