Default For Sale: 1983 5spd One Owner 75K documented miles

Posting this for a local friend who is not into the forums.

1983 928, 5spd, one owner, 75K miles. Has service records, keys, etc. Car was repainted (forgot to ask when) at some point. Appears to have been glass out since I couldn't find any tape lines. Bone stock adult owned since new. Maintenance up to date. Car is in Charlottesville VA.

If interested, please PM me for contact info. I have no affiliation or financial interest in this car. Just helping out a friend.

Asking $12K OBO.

The DeLorean runs and drives nice. Owner is restoring it and was telling me how readily available parts are for it. And they are actually reasonably priced. He was even able to find a windshield for it.

is that a shadow on the dash and console, or is there some funky coloration going on?

Mark: there's a company here in Houston that bought up all the unused parts to make the rest of the DeLorean's that the factory never finished. You can have a brand new one put together here in Houston. Don't know how expensive it would be.

Ed:
That's a shadow from the lighting in his shop. Dash, pod, and console are all the same color.

Car looks great. Looks like a high center armrest has been added. If was mine I would add some spacers to the rear wheels so they flush out more to the fenders. Hope he gets what he's asking.

Wow - this is as beige as it can get!

The condition looks excellent; it's rare to see them that well taken care of. Hope it finds a great home!

Since there seems to be little interest in the car at this price, he said to drop it so he's now asking $12K OBO.

I would never use Rennlist (or any of the other 928 forums) as a gage for pricing or interest. Everyone here already has one, and this crowd is very tough on value. Hopefully the seller's decision is based on other things.

that car looks to be a 16K car,
and if the maintenance is up to date and its ready to run,
IE everything is working, A/C cold, fresh shocks and timing belt.
then worth it.
yes every older car may need a few helping hands ,
but the prices are going up,

Thanks for the input guys. I just posted the car for the shop who works on my cars. Just helping him out. I'm not trying to place car broker or anything like that. I am tempted to purchase the car and drive it, but I have too many cars as it is. If anyone is interested, please PM me and I will forward his contact information.

It's been on here a week. He's going to have to be patient.

The market for these cars is very small. It may take a while for the right buyer to come along.

My 82 is going on the trailer today, it took me many months to find the right buyer who would pay a fair price.

Everyone wants something for nothing and no one will value your car as much as you will. Sorry, it is a fact of life.
