Heading from Ohio to Connecticut Tuesday morning. The longest trip this car has seen in since 1982 when it was in Germany. I super excited, Not sure how my Father will feel that I put the miles on it since he only put 5k miles on it in the 25 years he owned it. I hope he has open arms and will want to get behind the wheel one last time.
I also hope it will make it. I have put 700 miles on it since I owned it and everything seems fine. The entire clutch system has been replaced and seems to be working fine now.
I can't wait to enjoy the ride!

Have fun and post some pictures! When in NY, take Rt 5 along Lake Erie, to Buffalo. You get off the boring I-90 and see some of the most beautiful countryside there is, plus nice twisty turns and almost no traffic. Jump back on the highway at Hamburg.

Well I made it both ways. What a trip, The car handled great and it sure beats driving my cargo van lol. Drooman I wish I would have seen your post before I got home. I was in North Stonington the whole time with little to noting to do.
I took route 80 to 81N to 84W so Buffalo was out of the way.
Did have a problem on the way home. I left Ct about 6am and ended up in traffic real bad on 84 a bunch of accidents rain the whole trip back. I know the alternators are weak in these cars but with the headlights on and wipers the battery died real fast. I thought once I got going on the open road about 80 that it may charge but never did. (It's a brand new battery) I stopped about 300 miles in and gave the battery 30amps for about an hour. Got back on highway and same thing just wont charge with headlights and wipers going.
It made it home but i was under the 10 volt mark for a long time.
