Need a 1983 YR 928 for a film production company to film.
Not a lot of details yet, but I was contacted about finding a 1983 928 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for still shots of the interior and possible filming of the car for TV/film. I will start looking in the DFW area just due to logistics and if we have to expand outside DFW then I will put out the call.
The production company has stated that they wanted an 83 year model after which I told them there was not a whole lot of difference between the early cars on the interior looks (and to some degree exterior). So if we cannot find an 83, we will move to 81,82,84,85,86. The more original the better and preferably in very good shape.
I cannot unfortunately reveal what it is for at this time because I don't know myself to be honest but any opportunity to showcase our cars only helps everyone out as a group.
Thanks everyone for the consideration. Please PM me if you are interested.
Wish I were closer. If you can't find a local one, I have a 1983 with 40K miles on it. Won awards at a few PCA shows and is mostly original. They film a lot of movies in my area... not sure if the people who contacted are familiar with any studios local to me.
Can you take some interior pics of your car so that I can forward to them? I would assume your interior is as nice as your exterior. If you have the pics in Dropbox or any share site that would be great or if you can PM me the .jpg that would also be great and I'll make sure you get the credit for the shots.
Thanks for the reply and yes, it is quite helpful!
I think James Morrison in Austin still has a Ruby Red '84 model. He would probably love to have one of his cars participate.
Porsche redesigned the interior in 1985 and the seat style from 85-95 is different than previous years.
I was hoping to hear something local in the DFW area first just due to logistics but if I don't get any takers, I might have to reach out to James. Thanks for the input.
I agree that visual updates for 83 were minimal. Mainly, it was the first year with the digital clock and the round speaker grilles instead of the perforated door panels. There were a few color changes as well. Nobody will be able to tell that the engine had a larger displacement and a few extra horse power...
Can anyone send me pics of their 83 or 84 interior only? I'm not sure why they need them (but was requested) except maybe to replicate for a jig to film interior shots (just my guess here). Possibly some of the dash, center console, pass and drivers side, rear seat area and boot. If you have any from a previous purchase or were going to put online for a sale of your car- that would be great.

Go to the 928 Registry and pull up some of the 83s entered there. Should be plenty of pictures, including interiors.
