When you completed the descriptions of your efforts with "but it's fun". I thought, yup, that is what it's all about. Sometimes I have to remind myself that when faced with what seems like daunting, PITA jobs.

Glad you're sharing.

Your car looks awesome! First 928 I've seen that aftermarket wheels really look the part. Do you happen to have any more photos? What are the specs on the wheel/tire/suspension combo?

Curtisr; I've never done anything like this. I'm mechanically minded, I know how all components in a car work, but this is the first time ever I've taken it upon myself to, of all things, swap a Porsche 928 transmission....doesn't get any more complicated than a 928...right? I'm finding the challenge fun...I look forward working on the car even thou my time for it is limited.

THANKS,

Thanks....they're turbo twist that came with the car. I've never driven the car...I bought it none running. I've since got the engine working, now swapping transmission just so I can get this beast moving. New tires will be next after I get her on the road....well, there is a long list of next projects for this 928.

Good luck, and even though you've ran into quite a few snags...you are making headway...great work!

Brian.

Brian; I went with drilling out...lots of patience gutting the sensor out and tapping the sensor walls in with a very thin chisel. Now I have to drill out what's left of the bolt. What do you do, or put around the sensor, that will keep this from happening?

THANKS,

Default Fixing battery box rust

Well; I couldn't move any further and not address the rust on the bottom of the battery box. I've never metal fabricated anything, but I'm doing it.

Default Battery box welding

These are the ugliest welds you'll ever see, but it's my first time. Anyway, I'm going to bring them down and re-stitch till I get it perfect...well, as perfect as I can get it:

Looks like a pretty nice repair, especially for a first time welder. Keeping the welds small will make for much easier grinding. Just stitch in the unwelded areas and grind down. Most folks goober up the area with tons on unnecessary welding...which leads to much necessary grinding.

Keep up the nice work.

Brian.

Default Finished battery box

Etch primed follow by seam sealer. Finished the outside with rubberized coating; as well as the inside, the same in gray.

Yesterday I had a couple hours to work on the car. TT lifted and ready to bolt in, rear diff strapped in....labor intensive....just takes time!
