I ordered a new modulator valve, filter, gasket and pressure test kit from MercedesSource just to make sure, but when I drove it just feels like there nothing there....flares between 2nd & 3rd, and reverse doesn't engage at all...nothing. Regardless I'll go thru the steps and will report back for help.

Sometimes in the early stages of L H failure the brain no longer turns on the fuel pump so many will jumper the fuel pump relay to power the pump any time the ignition is on.....so look for that on the central electric panel.

Default Transmission project

So...I was able to get it started! Its running rich, there are several issues I must address....fuel line, fuel pump running all the time, need to install new timing belt, water pump....the list is long, but the transmission is my NOW project cause I want it running.

After much research and talking to several of you I need a new transmission....so I purchased a transmission off a 1993 GTS with only 38K miles and I'm going to swap it.

Bought the PorKen lift bars...took a month to get them, but worth the wait.

I'm following Wayne's write up to the tee....BTW...Wayne if you happen to come across this post THANK YOU..YOU'RE THE MAN!!! MY RESPECT!!!

Well.....brought down the exhaust and heat shields.

Default Speed sensor trouble

Both rear speed sensors are totally stuck. I was able to remove driver side speed sensor bolt (5 Allen) but the sensor itself it's stuck like chuck!!! The right side I stripped the bolt...😡! Going to have to rethread, or re-sleeve it after I bring the cross-member down.

Default E-brake cable

What a pain to remove the ebrake cable ferrule from its socket! Mine has some surface rust and it was completely stuck. Two days of WD40, PBBlaster, and some sort of mystery penetrating oil....it finally came out!

While removing the driver side exhaust hanger bolt I thought of removing the liner which completely disintegrated on me....need a new one, but they're so expensive!! Going to have to find an alternative.

Default Cross-member down!!

Finally down....labor intensive complicated work with lots of preparation but fun!

Lowering the cross-member little by little making sure nothing is hung up during the descent:

I had to bite the bullit and purchased a HF transmission jack! I work alone and one floor jack wasn't cutting it. I left the transmission hanging but supported till I get a chance to work on my car. 60+ hours at work and the family keep me very busy...I get to work on my car couple minutes or couple hours a week!

Need help...I haven't research it but how do I disconnect the PSD to bring down the transmission. How do I relieve the pressure?

Default Broken speed sensor

After a week of lubrication and lots of tapping and pulling and lubrication and tapping and pulling this is what I got! Broken speed sensor....patience! Got to think this thru!! I guess I could drill thru the middle of the sensor without going all the way thru and tap the edges in separating the sensor wall from the hub.

Default TT & Transmission out

Well; I finally got my transmission and TT out.....LOTS OF WORK, NOT EASY...WOW! BUT FUN!

On my car the PO had installed the Constantine Clamp and I was having a hard time getting the shaft off. The trick was to take all the six bolds out and once I tapped it with a mallet it all came down. But after all the work...it's out:

Separated the TT from the transmission and very happy and pleasantly surprise. This TT must have been reconditioned some time ago; it's powder coated and considering its got a Constantine Clamp! Well all is good...it feels super tight and it spins easily and free! After I cleaned it:

BTW; I called Constantine about the clamp in my car....Super Nice Guy! Very knowledgeable and easy going!

Using my engine hoist to move these transmissions around....this things are heavy!

New transmission mounts going in. Check out the difference between the new and old:

Worse case scenario would be...removing the axle shaft...so you could maybe push the wheel sensor out. I've drilled many directly in the center, like you mentioned...and that can work, too.

Good luck, and even though you've ran into quite a few snags...you are making headway...great work!

Brian.
