Guys my 928 is an Automatic and the transmission is stuck on parking. The shifter moves ok up & down, but it doesn't disengage from parking. I opened up the shifter plate and the cables look attached from there...haven't been able to go look at the rear portion of the cable attachment. Any ideas?

Bob you mentioned looking at the green/red LED lights next to the LH; is it right underneath? I had someone open the switch and crank the car while I stuck my head right in there in front of the LH but no LED lights came on.

Next time it is running, check your ignition monitor relay - right side of the passenger footwell, behind the carpeting, by the LH controller/ECU. It has a clear plastic case. Are either the green or red LED's lit up? I wouldn't run it long especially if you are smelling gas.

OK guys....I finally got my 928 started. ALRIGHT! Turned out to be the LH. Of course I couldn't hear the injectors clicking cause I was working by myself and I couldn't hear them making noise from inside the car. I had ordered a new refurbished MAF from 928International thinking that's what it was. Then I purchased a refurbished LH from Kuhn...installed it and she started right up. Of course I had a lot of prep before starting her up. I finally got her in the air for a full inspection:

Before starting her up I changed oil filter, oil and new Bosch Platinum plugs. Installed the new LH and drove her to the lift. I did find oil inside the plug shafts even thou there are no leaks outside the engine. Bought a nifty little pump that worked beautifully draining the oil before removing the plugs. I've read here that its a sort of common problem that I'll address later on:
I also found that my fuel pump turns on and stays on right from the moment I turn the key....will need to address this issue...it's got a heavy fuel smell...well; I'll be replacing all fuel lines, components and clean the tank...will be checking all fuses and relays...bought new pump and in-tank pump for later installation;
Also found the transmission leaking all over:

hr,
You probably want to get rid of those platinum plugs. 928s do not like platinum plugs. Just use good old copper plugs from Bosch. Platinum plugs can cause all kinds of weird running conditions.
Use the search function. It will help you in your journey.

I do have to bring down the transmission and send it for a complete rebuild. It slips on every gear and reverse doesn't engage....expected, but I'm doing it right.

BTW...I like the wheels on your 928. I've thought about getting a set when the time comes. How's the fitment?
