Jim is right. It is possible, but you will have to fab some stuff. Mark at 928 Intl used to have a neat front pan extension/adapter for this, but it is NLA

Just wondering why would you want to do it, they are a pain in the A$$, collect a load of dirt and hide everything from quick inspection.
The stock S3 pan does just fine w/ air flow, are you building a 170mph plus car?

I agree - but I am a mechanic. The pan is a PITA when servicing the car.

And if you look at the air scoops in the late-model engine pan, you can tell they contributed to motor mount failure by over-heating the mounts. So NACA ducts were added to help cool the mounts. Good riddance!

Are you sure you meant what you actually wrote?

87 to 95 front belly pans have always used the NACA scoops to transfer cooling air to the MM's. The early pan only covers the area between the radiator and the engine and never had any scoops at all.

The 78 to 86 belly pan is NLA and we are having them reproduced.

Roger do you have a price point for the early pans?
What will they be stamped from steel or aluminum?
Thanks

Yes. Thats what I thought I had said. That the late-model pans had cooling ducts for the motor mounts which indicates to me that the pan had some detrimental qualities - at least as motor mount longevity was concerned.

I think Porsche was trying to increase their top-end speed rating to improve sales. Or maybe they were trying to lower the temps in the engine, as we have seen many reports that the car runs cooler with the belly pan installed.
