Default Red flashing LED

Well it's a little embarrassing that it took me five years to notice, but it seems that there is a red LED screwed into the underside of my instrument pod near the wiper interval adjustment ****. It flashes every few seconds all the time. ??

Is this some junk from an alarm that was installed?

Now I know why my shop guys always ask me about my alarm, and I'm like "what alarm?" People who actually work on the car notice little things like this.
