factory cd player malfunction

anyone have any tips about cd player on 94 gts. Won't respond or eject cartridge. Its as if its not getting power. Message on the stereo says EO1

First, check to make sure the unit has power. No response from the unit means that it is locked up or not powered.
Is this a changer? If so, there should be a very small hole near the eject button or behind the sliding door. Inside the hole is the master reset button for the changer. Get a paper clip, insert it into the hole and press the reset button.
E01 is typically a CD error where a disc is jammed.
If the reset above doesn't work, remove power to the unit by unplugging all cables, let it sit for 5 mins. and then re-connect all cables. The changer should enter it's startup sequence and eject the disc.
If this doesn't work, then seek out a locally-owned electronics shop and have them take a look at it.
