Default What direction to rotate crank?

when looking at the engine from the front, what direction do you turn the engine over by hand? Clockwise or counter clockwise?

Always clockwise as you face the engine.

Only clockwise, never counter clockwise.

Darn it.

The engine rotates clockwise when running and that's the way to turn it to maintain belt tension. I disagree on not turning it backwards. If cam position matters you need to move it clockwise but backing it up won't hurt anything.
