2 symptoms can make one issue?fuel smell and....
 

.... Fuel pump buzzing.
Today i was in a parking lot, waiting for a friend. Got out from the car, engine on... I can't figure out where the fuel smell was coming from, under the car no leaks, but I was able to hear the pump (3 years old) really buzzing more than normal....
From front right fender no fuel smell, apparently, but then cooling fan started blowing and the smell of fuel, not too much, was there....turned off engine, opened hood, no leaks whatsoever.
I read some old treads about evap system, but they were all related to fuel Tank collapsing, not fuel smell... Can a faulty evap system make the pump buzzing, like there is an extra effort to pump gas to fuel line?
I do not want to spend more money on a new pump for a faulty system,so what to check first?

As I remember you have an S4 correct? The classic cause of a fuel smell is the pathetic plastic y-piece [located next to the charcoal filter just behind the front passenger side wheel] in the tank ventilation system that fractures.

That however has nothing to do with a faulty or buzzing fuel pump that I can think of. When you replaced the fuel pump did you replace the in-tank pump [assuming you have one]? The short hose that connects the in tank pump to the outlet nozzle frequently lets go and rubber bit that break off can enter the main pump and cause problems.

Although chance does not favour it, two things can go wrong simultaneously on these cars especially if there is a shed load of deferred maintenance items.

I have a 92 gts, dunno if it has the in Tank pump, within 2 hours i will start the car again,i will tell you about the pump noise...

Easy to confirm you have one by the wires that connect to it, near its outlet, which then goes to the main pump.

As for the fuel smell, checking the Y-piece is definitely worth doing, and I'd also be going over every fuel line to ensure they're all sound. You don't want a GTSBQ!

I doble check ed fuel lines - recently replaced- in the enginebay, checked the rear.... No leaks... So i think I will have a look under the front fender, and get a y connection... Maybe stainless Steel one.
Fuel pump :today it is quiet...

Low tank level/warm fuel can give increased pump noise, as can obstructed in-tank pump.

Any different conditions from yesterday?

Added fuel?
Hotter/colder?
Was today after a short run and yesterday after a long run?

I recall in a few other threads, relating to pump noise, where it was found to be a sign of imminent failure ... and that's happened to me. Do you carry a spare?

Given you have a 92 GTS then as far as I know they do not have the infamous y-piece that fails in the S4's.

That being said the vapour emission control system may well have failed somewhere along the line.

Today less miles, hotter temperature, no noisy pump, filled up and I have half Tank now... No fuel smell....

Check your seal on the fuel sender unit. Fill up your tank and see if you can smell fuel, do you notice it more when your windows are open and driving circulating the smell.
