I'd rather have the real deal RHs already painted for $2600 than 1 piece fakey doos. Wonder whether Chuck ever sold hem....

The wheels don't look right, too big for that design imo. Otherwise a very nice car, BUT I could not justify that money when you could get a new Z06 Z07 for 100K. If we could have the tech and performance and sound of the Z07 in our 928 car bodies that would be nirvana, but that would require some major work. Until then this is the whole package for the money. (lots of review video's on YT, check the one by hooniverse, funny)

If you had been here another 10 years you would know noob. But I live in reality. Nobody has been or is more of a 928 fan than me, but you have to be real. This Z06 Z07 is one of the best cars made, that and a few others. The 928 still has the looks, but not the performance.
I suspect a nicely cared for 2015 will be just as nice in 20 years, no rust to worry about, well made and proven engine guts. Where are nicely cared for split window 60's vettes.

If you lived in reality you would know that many people buy a collector car for reasons other than performance.
Otherwise why would anyone pay six figures for a vintage Corvette that is blown away by a $10k used C5?
Your last post with the Corvette says otherwise.

Hello all, interesting comments... I see the debate hasn't changed much here?
FWIW, all that would prefer to see the car back to stock (I know mods are a matter of personal taste), when I sold it the car had ALL the original stock parts including wheels, coil overs (has Bilstein/Eibach setup now), black strut bar, black calipers, original rotors.....were with the car. In fact, I made a special trip to Atlanta to deliver the original parts after the buyer picked the car up in Charlotte. Everything that was swapped out was changed out with another NEW part (except the strut bar....)and the original was preserved and went with the car. Whether all that stuff is still with it, I do not know....
I'd be more concerned about the aftermarket stereo then the cosmetic stuff I did.....
Rob, the RH wheels were sold and the guy that bought them was going to paint the centers black...... . You're right, you should have bought them, they were absolutely beautiful!

Don't get me wrong, the new Z06 is interesting, but the 928 has classic and timeless lines, sounds, and aura. Not just the latest - and nearly greatest Corvette, which was quoted at "the most track capable Corvette ever", but really isn't. I say that, and I probably love Corvettes more than any other. The 928, and the GTS models, were marvels. There's my 2c.

Well, Steve Sanders I would love to see how that generic block of plastic looks and drives in 20 years from now and who would want to drive it besides you.

You were right to provide the original parts with the car. I hope they are still with it.
I thank you also for all the work that you have done for the 928, in general.

Take a 20 y/o Corvette, such as the Grand Sport. The values of some are really strong, at original MSRP or higher. They were the pinnacle of 1996 Corvette options, and with 1,000 made, they will always hold value more than the others thousands and thousands of 1996 Vettes.
But regardless of choice, it's still not cool to be dismissive over the marque. Without Corvette, Porsche wouldn't need to try so hard. And vice versa.

What I said above is nothing that hasn't been said by most veterans here, many threads to prove it, so why the hissy fit? and the who is steve sanders
Yet here is a thread where so many here were ditching their 928's for another car, yet I wasn't --- https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-s-to-buy.html
Your words Hack -- "If I had to keep it over a 928 - Any new Aston Martin would do, or an all original 427 Shelby Cobra."
plenty of others there saying which car they wanted over their own 928, if needed I have the quotes.
In another thread you went on about the NSX Hack says -- "-- But just for fun, let's compare the NSX to the 928.
The NSX is considered by many to be one of the most well refined and perfect sports cars of all time. At least during the time it was in production.
Not only is it credited to be the car that put Ferrari in its place forcing them to produce a better sports car (which ended up being the 355) it was fine tuned by the one and only Ayrton Senna (Google that name if you don't understand the significance.....)"
whitensx-- yes I have always defended the 928 but not for crazy prices against something that is now in another world. In the last 5 years, top cars have made an unbelievable leap in performance, luxury and looks. The Mclaren P1, Mclaren 570, the lambo Huracan, Aston 177, Aston Vanq S, Pagani Zonda R and this new Corvette Z06 Z07. These cars and some others make it impossible to say the 928 beats them. --------- This new vette is the first that looks awesome to me and sounds incredible, not to mention the automatic rev matching feature. So yeah the lesson is -------------- Time changes stuff!

Respectfully, that's not cool to be dismissive of a Corvette, or any other car. Plenty of market for 20 y/o Corvettes, and a poorly kept car will always bring less money. But a fine example, with strong options, will always bring the coin.

Here is what was built in Denmark. I am not proud.

I doubt anyone interested in this (or any) GTS is not aware there are faster cars for the money, they don't care. That's not why people buy cars like this and if you were the die hard 928 enthusiast you claim to be, you would understand this.
Do you think the guy who paid $30 million for a vintage GTO is not aware a brand new Ferrari for less than $500k would blow it away in any performance comparison?
Or like I stated before, a vintage vette over a new one? A bone stock C5 ZO6 sells for pennies compared to anything vintage with a 427....yet the C5 will embarrass the big block all day long with the A/C on and my 72 year old mother driving.
