928 Key Question

928 Key Question
I'm trying to find a replacement head for this key that came with my car because it doesn't seem to want to fit in the standard Porsche lighted key head that was supplied with the car. I'm wondering if this key was originally a valet key or something like that? If anyone could tell me what type of head I need to locate in order to make this a functional key I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

It would really help if you posted the year of your car - however judging by the picture its an OB.
Earlier keys had a square shaped key head with a light or just the plastic key head. From your picture it looks like the head was removed and as far as I know it cannot be replaced. You could maybe buy a key blank and swap heads.
Just send a picture to www.keys4classics.com and they will send you a key that will take the later lighted key head.

That's the shop. Can order new blades with either lighted or non lighted key heads and much cheaper than from the dealer. They are great guys and very responsive to email inquires.
