928MS Solid Motor Mounts

I know this topic has brought up several times, I'm not asking about vibration or street ability.. but I emailed 928 Motorsports and didn't get a response. My question is does Rogers solid motor mounts lower the position of the motor? I read they get rid of the rubber, steel hats and heat shields.. but I'm confused by the height differences. The stock mounts are about 4 inches tall and the solid mounts from 928 Motorsports only look to be 1-2 inches thick.. or is it just the angle of the pictures, camera tricks, making them look thin? Has anyone purchased and installed these who can tell me if the motor is at same height.
Thanks
Thanks

That is my concern. I don't want to lower the engine.. but I've looked at the pics several times and can't figure out how these mounts won't lower the engine. There is a huge height difference.

For the record my MM's are not solid at all - that would defeat the object. They are hydraulic - rubber with water in the cavity - to absorb movement and vibration exactly the same as the original Porsche mounts.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

The stock mounts sit within the "hats" that you mentioned (item #2 in the PET diagram below), between the two "feet" on each side of the engine block. So the mounting surface on the block (the bottom of the "feet") is only slightly above the mounting surface on the crossmember. The solid mount replaces the hat and mount (parts 2, 3, 4) with an aluminum bar.
Given that the whole drivetrain from engine to differential is a single unit by virtue of the torque tube, I don't see the point in solid mounting. But if that is the goal, why not just leave in the collapsed factory mounts?
N.B. The machine screws that secure the "hat" to the engine -- #21 & 23 below-- are shown reversed in the diagram, they go in from below.

I answered, sorry you did not get my resposne.
jc (above) is exactly right. You will no longer be using part #2 in the diagram above.
With our solid motor mounts, your engine will be about 1/4" lower than the height it would have if it had brand new hydraulic mounts in it. It will still be higher than the height of the engine with collapsed motor mounts.
The solid mounts still allow for use of an oil pan spacer.
I have many sets of these in the field. One question we get a lot is whether the engine will now vibrate so much you will feel it in the car, in the steering wheel, etc. No. No noticeable difference.
We do recommend that you leave the transmission mounts stock (rubber) unless or until you have a roll cage installed. The 928 does twist and flex a bit, and there needs to be some compliance in the system.
Having the OEM rubber transaxle mounts in use does the trick....
