The salt corrosion on the external aluminum stuff is cosmetic, and hardly a reason to make the thing into a doorstop. On valve stems. rust will accelerate guide and seal wear, but that's stuff that would likely be disassembled, cleaned and checked anyway. I would have no issues putting this one in your car while you refurb the 'working' one that's in there now. So it costs an extra quart of oil over the winter?
I think I can spare $500 for it if it's complete with accessories, if you decide it's scrap. I'll figure out a way to get it here and make it usable. Seriously.

My guess is that it will turn out decently and in the meantime I can use it to be a jig for the SC build I am currently working on.
