Will these wheels fit my 928 S2 1985 ?
Seller describes these as :
Genuine RH wheels, German manufactured, 5 x 130 PCD.
Front 8.5 x 18 ET59, rear 10 x 18 ET 54.
Front tyres Pirelli P Zero Rosso 225/40 x 18 with 4mm remaining.
Rear tyres Pirelli P Zero Rosso 285/30 x 18 with 3.5mm remaining.
These just came off a '93 928 GTS but I believe they will fit other Porsche models too.
I need to know if they will fit my older '85 - 928

Thanks Guys, I've bought them, so hope my mechanic can fit them tomorrow.
The rear wheels/tyres look enormous but I was happy to see the photo of same model 928 as mine showing them fitted.
They did come with spacers, but dont know if I will need them ?

Great choice on the wheels. They look great and have the right front fitment.
On the rear spacers-- You and your machanic will decide based on actual fitment and the look you want. It also depends on the thickness of the spacers. The GTS that the wheels came from have a wider rear wheel arch than your car, so spacers may or may not be appropriate. The later cars also have a rolled fender lip, something you can pretty easily if you need an extra fractioon of an inch for tire clearance.

Bad news. The rear wheels dont fit. Even without spacer the fender is sitting on top of the tyre. The rear wheels are 18 x 10 ET54 and the tyres are 285x30 ZR18.
I suppose I will have to get rid of them now. Do i probably need 17x9 wheels ?

In the US, the 928 Owner's Club has a fancier tool that includes an adjustable roller and fixture that bolts to the hub with the wheel removed. It's a little easier to control how the metal is moved, but otherwise no different from the baseball-bat method.
Those wheels -will- fit on your car. It might take a little gentle persuasion to move the metal out a tad, but they will go on. The extra track and the better rubber will dramatically change the way it drives, and the appearance is a very nice update from the flat wheels. Were we closer and you weren't happy with the fit or appearance, I'd buy them from you in a heartbeat.

That sounds like a good solution as long as there is no filler anywhere in the fenders. (I dont know). Could end up as a costly respray !!. I would be taking a chance. The other problem is that my old wheels had spacers so the studs were obviously altered and now they would be about 2 cms too long to fit the new wheels if I mange to roll out the fender. Are they easily removable or could I (my mechanic , that is) just cut them short ?
Strange thing is that the manufacturers website states that these wheels are a fit for my MY 1985

Thanks again for the advice.

Trying to buy an adult size baseball bat in Ireland is not easy, so I have ordered a fender roller online. I will post some pics of the end result next week.
Fingers crossed that things will work out o.k.

I'm feeling a bit more confident after reading a previoius post from mrmerlin (Stan) who has alos given me great advice along the way. This is what he had to say about fender rolling:
On a 928 rear wheel when the chassis is set at normal ride height, the top of the rear wheel will go up and inwards toward the inner fenderwell,
IOW the wheel doesnt go straight up when its compressed.
SO if you have about 5mm of clearance between the tire and the fender lip when the car is sitting you should not have any clearance issues,
unless the wheel package is too close to the inner fender,
then the tire can rub on the inside,
this can happen when one wheel might go over say the curb of a driveway.
The idea with moving the tire wheel assembly out is to fill the fenderwell and add some stability to the track as a wider track is more stable than a more narrow track.
