Default WTB: Shifter Cover Strip 928 454 185 00

I'm hoping someone has a spare. I can't find one online. Not even on the 928 International website. I haven't tried them yet by phone.

The cover strip is the portion that the boot gets fixed to on our AT cars. It travels with the motion of the shifter. It has the white pointer on it that indicates where the shifter is positioned.

Happy Father's Day to all of the 928 dads out there.

once in a while they show up on ebay, they sell for major $$$, I also have been looking for one, but for + $92.80, I spend the money on other parts.
Mj did a nice conversion to the faux leather boot for the AT shifter.
ps., I gorilla glued the rubber boot to the ribbed plastic slider.

Different RHD v LHD. Will work but the indication is on the wrong side.

Part number does not exist. Comes as an assembly. ---
3 speed 928 552 091 04
4 speed 928 552 091 20

Porsche just restocked the 4 speed and price is $225.31.
I can check availability tomorrow for the 3 speed.

OP - it would be useful for you to add your car details to your signature line.

Happy Fathers Day!!

Thanks, for the info, Roger. The car is LHD with the 4-speed AT.

Thanks for your offer, potdog. Wish that it was the correct part.

Thanks so much, Charley.

Kicker about it for me is that I broke the one that originally came with the car. Removed the one from my '85 parts car and have since misplaced it. I guess that's the kind of thing that can happen when you don't go to install the part until like 4 years later.

No doubt that it's long gone.

Hi,

Appreciate this thread has laid dormant for a while.

I’m after a shifter cover for a RHD 4-speed 86.5

Does anyone know where I might be able to find one?

Thanks,

Grant
