Default Porkensioner Install

I have to give much respect to Roger for his engineering skill and instinct.
The porkensioner install was so easy, even a caveman could do it.
I didnt need the instructions as it was so obvious how it replaces the stock tensioner. My clearance was at 5.5 mm after the install.
Just a tip, mark your old belt and gears prior to disassembly and transfer your marks to the new belt. Some might call them "cheater" marks, but why would it be cheating if it helps you do the job correctly? it makes for question proof install and would help if you had to do a interim repair to the front of the engine.
While I was in there, I tightened All the oil pan bolts, re-greased the starter and cleaned its terminals, cleaned some gunk from the bottom of the car, and replaced all the hoses.
Can hardly wait to see her started again.

That's really a sharp looking job.
Congratulations!

Could you please tell us about how long it took to complete?
What is the model year of your 928?

Thanks! ! !

Looks good!

I do hope you installed the plug on the water pump, though...

From 9:30 to 4:30 today. Took a little longer than I thought because of the unrelated cleaning, greasing, and tightening that had to be done while under the car. Thanks for the compliment, the car hasnt had any engine work since new as far as I can tell.

I wish I could take the props for this but it all belongs to PorKen.

Well, props to the mind behind the idea and props to those that can make them available!
The car started before the engine turned once and I couldn't think of a better Father's Day present ( just finished putting in the radiator and filling with beck/arnley).

Saw this brand WP on ebay a while back for around $100, good price but the quality seemed sketchy. How did it feel in your hands?

Although aluminum, it felt heavier than the stock unit and fit like a factory part. The machining is top notch. The only thing I had to do was dremel clearance for the washer at the topmost middle bolt seat (a 20 second job) so that it would sit flat under the bolt head and not cocked.

Bringing this old thread from the dead. How did the URO pump hold up over the years?

I will not sell URO pumps - made in China and high failure rate.
