Phoenix Happy Hour on Thursday?

Check the other thread I started "Stranded..." for updates. I guess I'm ify at this point, but still holding out some hope I can get it running good enough to make it to El Paso and maybe pickup a FP there just to have in the car if needed. Even so, we're almost 8 hours from Phoenix, so we'd probably not get there in time for dinner.

We are on the road, about an hour west of El Paso and the car is running good. All the GPS's are saying we won't be to Mesa until 5:30-6. We can still try to meet for dinner but we won't have as much time as I had hoped, but of course the party can continue after we have to leave for the concert. I'll post again around 4 when we have a better idea when we'll be there and confirm that we are still moving :-)

In light of this (mostly good) news - maybe we should plan to push back our start time until 5:00-5:30pm?
This will work better for some anyway as noted before

Have been in text contact with Don - they are making good progress - Safford AZ.
He says 5:30pm ETA works based on the GPS. Lets meet there then or a little before!

Had a great time meeting up with Don and his son Josh. Good German food and beer for the adults. The only thing better was spending time with great people. The only thing unpleasant for me was the live accordion music which sent me into a PTSD episode.
I'm sure Dan at Exotic Motorwerks can fix the fuel pump first thing today. Enjoy Cottonwood Canyon and Sedona before you head out to The canyon. Great father son memories to make and hang on to. Safe travels.

We really enjoyed the dinner and meeting up with the Phoenix crew. Of course I wish we had had more time, but I guess we were lucky to even make it at all.
It was great to meet Rick, and Alan who has helped me so many times with electrical issues over the years. And Dan... what a great story teller. I don't think I'll ever hear accordion music again without thinking about that story. Your very generous gift to my son was much appreciated and will always be treasured.
We decided to spend a 2nd night in Phoenix and rest up from the stressful 2 days of driving, riding in tow trucks and working on the 928 on interstate shoulders as eighteen wheedlers flew by... we'll head north tomorrow.
Let me know if you ever pass through Houston!

By the way, after the concert, my son and I were hanging out with a few others waiting to meet the band as they left the theater, and a guy who was also at the show came up and asked about the 928 and explained that he had recently sold his. It was Jerry, who owns the car on the left in this pic from a 2012 gathering.
