Message for Nicole,
Grun party calling,
you have been expelled for life for the burning of fossil fuels for self gratification.
Hey anders glad to see you enjoying your purchase.

Anders,
With that speed you do'nt need the bridge - Just adjust your rear spoler and take-off!

Ernest, I'll dyno it as soon as I have my RMB on it. Plan to do a Unichip install then. It'll take a month or two though...

I really don't know if there is anything special about my car but it seems to work just fine for my needs.

Btw, on my 944S2 there was a top speed difference of 4-5 km/h depending on if I had the pop-ups up or down. Anyone who have any numbers for the 928 regarding this?

Erik, what is your problem. Do you have any reason not to believe me?

Exactly, it might very well be that my speedo is waaaaaayyy off...

I'll have to buy myself a GPS to see what the real speed is, or at least take a good look at the speedo.

Anders,
Yes, I will see it before I believe it - According to my knowledge, the top speed for that car is 275 Km/h, so only if you had the wind with you and down hill I think that's possible
Or maybe if you have a very positive Speedo as you said yourself (I'm not sure of how accurate the speedo is.)
OK Anders, I hope we can meet on day so you can show the top speed to me. A pity you don't come to the 928Euro meeting (Nuhrburgring) this week!
Anyway, I would like to meet you and see your nice car one day!

Erik, in my S2 which is supposed to have a top speed of 240 km/h I had 270 km/h on the speedo (used a pic of it as avatar for a year) and according to the rpm's/tire size that was a true 250-255 km/h speed.

When I drove the GT yesterday it was all flat, no hills what so ever. I've seen a video of a S4 auto doing an indicated 290 km/h. Rehan has just mentioned that he has seen 285 km/h in his S4.

I take the indicated speedo numbers with a grain of salt since they are just that - indicated on the speedo. I once had a Renault Megané that did 186 km/h on a GPS while showing 205 km/h on the speedo.

So I guess that 290km/h on the speedo would be in the same neighbourhood as 275 km/h real speed. Will have to have another go at it again and have a friend with a camera in the passenger seat and a GPS in his lap to figure out what the real speed is.

I hope you guys enjoy it at the 928 meet and I'd love to be there, hopefully next year!

Cheers

I advise you to look at the digital speedo next time. It is more accurate.

I have seen 264 km/h with it versus 270 km/h with the analogic speedo at 6.000 rpm.
The redline is at 6775.

The previous owner of my car has seen an indicated 288 km/h with the digital speedo and 300 km/h with the analogic speedo.
This should be at around 6.545 rpm.

Our car should be in the same speed range.

Samuel

Here's a shot of an S4 auto speedometer.
