I have an extra set of manhole wheels, and an urge to do something with them. How about a glossy black powder coat? (Photoshopped - glossiness not quite right.)
Seems a little sinister, which might be good in an urban setting, but not mine. Other than polished (which I like), are there any suggestions?
hmm. Tough call.
Something about this, as I look at it, is somehow detracting from the lines of the 928.
I'm not sure I can be more specific. I think even if the wheels were painted quite dark, yet not all-the-way black, it would give the eyes something that this is lacking.
Oh poop what do I know anyhow.

I have black painted manhole covers on my car. They need to be refinished, and my car is not black. I think in a way it works better when everything is black. I love black wheels on a light-colored car, but for that, I think the manholes are just too much solid metal...it blends in with the tires and it's just a flat disc of black...on a light-colored car, I think spoked wheels work better in black, because you cans see brakes and stuff through it. A light-colored rim along the outside of the wheel might help in my case. Regarding yours, there's something to be said for that black on black on black look.
black 7 slots look better against some body colors more than others.
I think the black on black looks good, but dont waste $ on powder coating 7 slot wheels.
Plasti-dip is a good coating for wheels, it is durable, and it is removable.
