Default 82 5 speed for sale

For anyone interested, my 82 5 speed that is my avatar picture is going up for sale.

This was a 2 year project with my son and he is entering the military soon and this is not the practical car he needs.

I will be listing it on eBay as soon as the weather clears enough for a polishing and clear pictures.

But within the last 7000 miles and 24 months she has had a completely rebuilt engine and heads, Greg Brown rebuilt gearbox, new torque tube, 3 month old clutch to include racing flywheel and new intermediate plate, pressure plate and dual disks. 4 month old WP/TB service, new 928MS rad, Borla SS exhaust, etc, etc, etc.

New paint, down to the metal with doors and windows out in 2011. Complete new interior with rear seat delete, new Corbeau leather seats and custom stereo.

The list of new stuff is very long and will be on eBay or if someone is interested, I can send the complete list by email

There is nothing that rotates, is oiled, is cooled, has electrical power or makes noise that hasn't been rebuilt, replaced or refurbed.

The car is fully sorted and everything works as it should. 91,000 total miles, but that is chassis miles.

The car has had ALL emissions equipment removed, so it won't pass emissions in Cali or the other more environmental states

PM me if you would like more information.

Just got to find the right person who DOESN'T want to work on a car for two years. In the end, you will spend much more money trying to fix up a car than buying one already sorted.

Oh well, it was a fun experience and I really know the car inside and out. Sometimes frustrating, but always rewarding when the problem at hand is resolved.

That's an impressive list of work done ... sounds like a great first car for someone.

I know this 928 having seen it several times. Marty has done some fantastic high quality modifications that really make this a dependable long term daily driver. I would unhesitatingly recommend it to anyone without reservation.
If I had not recently purchased my 72 Datsun Z and not had to supplement my business due to the economy, I would buy it today. With that being said, if it's still around when business gets back on track, it will be sitting in my garage.

The reason there is no asking price is that I wish to keep that private between myself and any serious buyer. But safe to say, it won't be $2000.

If someone is looking for a completely sorted and ready to go OB, then shoot me a PM. Nothing more complicated than that…

Thanks

The reason people are asking for a price is that the forum rules state you must post an asking price in any for-sale thread - they're trying to help you out, as usually threads which don't state a price get deleted or locked by the moderators.

Ok, the price is $20,000 but I am extremely flexible on the negotiation.

I guess everyone can read between the lines on this one…

Thanks for the input.

Really, it's a beautiful car, but you shouldn't play games with us. The renny rules are the renny rules. Hopefully you have gotten some benefit out of the forum over the past couple of years, so I would think that it would not be a big deal to just follow the posted rules. You know what you want for the car, so put it up. If you want bids, go to ebay. Otherwise this is just spam and should be deleted. Sorry if that ruffles your feathers, but if everyone plays by the same rules, then this place remains the best 928 forum on the web.

Asking to much and don't want to get flamed on a thread? Or just being difficult?

I would think it would be hard to price these things. For the right buyer his asking price might work, but the bigger the hurry, the less likely you are to find that right buyer. Clearly, there's been a lot of work that's gone into the car. You don't really make that back but how to do you price it? I know I would have a difficult time if I suddenly decided I had to sell mine (god forbid).
