Default Tire size/Advice. 1984 928S auto

Well guys I have quick question. I was looking into tires and came across a size 225/60R16 now the stock tire for my wheel is 225/50R16. In the means of the wheel fitting would fine but what about when its mounted on the car, I am wanting to put these in the rear and wanted to know if any of you out there has tried to fit a tire of this size. I'm choosing the rear since it has the most clearance I believe.

Let me know what you think.

It would fit just fine, but it would affect your speedometer reading some. It would probably give you a more accurate reading if I am honest, but be prepared for that.

the 60 series tire will just have a taller sidewall....larger diameter tread width will be the same or narrower in most cases since the 225 mm measurement is the widest bulge of the sidewalls and taller sidewalls bulge more think pickup truck tires vs low profile sports car tires. Actual tread width varies greatly from one brand to another....

from tire racks spec sheets for example Fuzion Touring the 225/50/16 has a section width max bulge of 9.2 inch and a tread width of 7.1 while the 225/60/16 is 9 inch section but only 6.7 inch tread width.. that is the same brand !!!

I'm pretty sure the 33 wood tire wasn't available until the turn of the century. Chiseled stone with relief cut white lettering were standard equipment beforehand. Granted, this option may have been available in Europe...or ROW.

Our house was built in 1893...but this car was no where to be found...lol.

Well thanks for the input guys, IMA try some on tomorrow morning and see if I like how it looks. I've always wanted to acquire the stance of how the ford falcon looks in the mad max movie. Now I know it maybe kiddish but the 928 can definitely I would say achieve that look:-D (*** up face down)

I have 245/60's on the rears, mine are S4 8" rims. They kinda have that "rod" look, but I like the lower profile look on a 928 better.
Wal-Mart has a 225/50/16 shoe for cheap, Goodyear, but it's not a 160 mph tire.

I think it's a -130
I can't remember the actual rating.
They were like 89 or 98 bucks, with a smiley face.
