With all due respect 220F water temp is HOT running on a regular basis on the street
As you can see to the left, I don't even have the factory fan in my car and i never hit 220F (have electric puller)
My 83S on a hot day like today runs at 180F while cruising.
In slow stop and go today (again hot outside here) 190F
Sitting in traffic after some spirited high revs; 200 -205 F max water temp today..
But when moving again my new and very accurate VDO water temp gauge will drop quickly once hot air is being sucked out from the engine bay. (thinking about hood venting again)
If i was hitting 220F on a regular basis i'd be concerned.
