Default Fuel Injection Relay

Hi 928'ers!

Let me start by saying if this forum never existed, I would have never bought the 80 928 L Jet that I did. Its a basket case inside, has some exterior rust, basically a serious project. I had a 914, and 914-6 that I used to tool and wrench on for awhile, but the 928 was always my true love.

Mine has the start and die syndrome. I need to troubleshoot a lot, but there is extensive info here about xvi, or 928 615 119 00.

My question is this, are these relays 928 specific, or for example, would 944 615 119 00 work?

Also, a lot of searching for this part number comes back as universal relay, wiper blower motor, aux, but none reference fuel injection relay.

But if I stick to my guns and order that 928 615 119 00, no matter what its described as, it is the correct relay right? Also will the 944 version work? Its listed as supporting lots of Porsche models including the 928.

Thanks in advance for the awesome advice you guys always give.

Another quick query, is the Pasha checkered interior specific to euros or did they put them in american versions too? I'm sure mine is US, pretty sure, automatic, no euro side markers or rear fog light.

That is a $4 relay so why experiment? The 944 may work but I would carefully cross check the diagram on each relay before plugging it in.
Pasha was available on all US/CAN & ROW cars.

Maybe I should be asking for a link to this 4$ relay! Got one?

No link but I have at least 20 in stock - shipping may be more than the cost of the relay.
I can sell you a $27 version if that makes it better for you 8>).
Wittrin makes the $4 relay and they are OEM to Porsche. It does not get any cheaper than this on a 928 8>).

OK good to know. I noted that change on Pelican that stated 01 superseded 00. So can I buy one of yours?

Any parts you need, just give Roger a call. I use Pelican quite a bit for my other cars, but Roger is the man for the 928. Not trying to slight the other 928 specific vendors, but I work with Roger because he is in the midwest and stuff ships easier/faster for me.

Where are you located?

Fuel relay arrived, but still dies after starting. If nothing else, the relay has been rules out. Time to look into the green cable or fuel pump. Checked the fuse and its good, but replaced it anyways.

Oh BTW, 1980 928/Auto.

Its been sitting for a few years, so there's a few more things I can try before buying a few pump. Any links to pertinent threads would be very helpful. Thanks everyone for chiming in.
