Carl, so you are a pilot, I am impressed. Do you fly internationally, to Europe or elsewhere? The Jumbo Jet B747 is really an impressive "vehicle". The B777 was new to me, I had to make a Google search. I am very happy if you will post the other pictures and when you come to Sweden you will find me located at the upper end of lake Vättern.

Hi Åke,

So you are located near Askersund? That area around the lake is very pretty, if I remember correctly Göta kanal flows from it down to the west coast? I sailed that with my parents growing up. Picked up a sailboat in Stockholm and spent 2 weeks sailing around before finally making port between Helsingborg and Landskrona.

My usual routes take me around the world twice during each work rotation, USA to Leipzig Germany, or to Bahrain, then to Hong Kong, and then back to the USA. Then repeat

Will post your pictures today, and look forward to looking you up when I get over there.

Cheers!
Carl

Hi Carl, you are right, I am located between Askersund and Motala. As you know the Göta Kanal water way is passing through the city of Motala. Every summer very many tourists both Swedes and from abroad are sailing the Göta Kanal across Sweden.
Being a pilot is a dream job for many but also a dream job becomes with time everyday routine. How do you cope with jet lag flying around the world on regular basis?

Hi Åke,

One really never can cope with it a 100%, but eventually one learns to "adjust" sleeping periods, and force oneself to go to bed, no matter what local time it is. But it wears you down for sure, and it usually takes me 3-4 days at home to catch up and get back to a "normal" schedule.

The flying part never gets old, but "seeing the world" one hotel at a time loses its appeal pretty quickly
Long gone are the 3-4 day layovers at fun destinations, all in the name of economics, and in total opposite to what the physical needs are for the body to recoup lost sleep.

Cheers!
Carl
