Default HVAC fan resistor pin change thread

Hey does anyone remember a post about changing the early car 1979 blower fan resistor and having to change the pins in the plug around..I've been restoring the A/c system and changed the blower resistor to the newer one-the old one was not available and had to get the newer resistor, and I thought I had read somewhere that the old plug didn't just plug into the newer resistor and you hasd to change some pins around ..when I turn the **** for the blower nothing happens and when I slide the lever to KLIMA I get full blow out of the vents....Please help !!!!

Pull pin 8 out and move 6 to the 8 position.

Ensure you have pin 8 covered up so it doesn't short out anywhere.

Hey thanks...I was looking at the actual plug connector to the resistor and it looks like the little jumper plug from position 2 to 6 is missing...may have broken off inside the plug when trying to pull the connector off the resistor....and then the top of the plug cover fell off so it may have fallen out of the plug..thanks for the help...
