6-way power OB seats to 12-way S4 conversion
Converting 6-way power seats from an '84 US model to 12-Way power seats out of an 88 'S4.
I lucked into finding a very nice set of 12-way S4 power seats the same color as my OB tattered and torn seats. I did a quick search under "OB seats" "12-way" "seat conversion" etc. and came up with nothing. I've gathered that everything should bolt up, but does anyone know of a write up for the install, mainly with respect to the electrical?
Should I try to source a pig-tail connection from a parts car S4 to wire into my car harness? Or will it be easier to cut the OB seat side of the harness and adapt that to the new S4 seats?
I haven't pulled out the old seats yet to see how they are wired in. But I'm trying to get a plan together before I do to minimize down time. I'm guessing it's not going to be just plug and play.
Since no write-ups seem to be around, I'll get photos and documentation when I do the project.
Thanks.

I actually had a similar question a few years ago. Some think that this conversion can cause the bolts that hold the seats to shear in the event of a frontal impact due to the fact that the bolts have to be shimmed. I never went through with the conversion myself so I can't speak to the installation procedure, but I just thought you might be interested in what some others said on the subject.
