The body kit on this car is really well done. Did a little bit of work on it last year and he is waiting for me to have an opening so he can get it back here. He also wants me to do some work on his 850.

Was really cooling having two wide bodies in the drive at one time.

You shouldn't make statements that aren't necessarily true. There are several wide bodied 928s on this forum such as mine and "Koenig" with kits that were installed 20 years ago. Don't want to get into a discussion about like/dislikes, however, if the installation is done properly with braces below the body work you have nothing to worry about. My kit is 25 years old and 160K mi old.

It amazes me how some people will spend tons of money and time on the exterior of the car and the engine is obviously in sorry shape.

Who knows about the rest of the running gear.

Is this another case of putting lipstick on a pig?

Maybe the cost of the bodywork broke the bank in which case the wife then says to him 'it him or the car' but one has to go

Run Forrest! Run!!!

Let me guess, intake leaks, throttle issues and cooling or HVAC problems. I was so close to buying an 850CSi four years ago in New Jersey. Sooooo close.

<edit; if you don't want to work on the 850 send him to Mike Dadja in Hurst. Dadja-do-rite automotive. Guy knows a ton about BMW 850.>

Not really, the car and engine run very well. I'm sure you know that most vehicle drivers could give a damn about how it looks under the hood but they make sure that it runs and the maint is up to date. This is one of those cases.

You got to see it yesterday, it's a damn good looking car and seems to only need a few things like door handle on the drivers side and a few other oddities. Car looks and runs good.

Surprisingly understated for a body kit, but it's no GTS. The interior looks good.

I could be wrong but I think most wide body kits still have front and rear bumper seems/sections. I agree if done right and as intended there should not be an issue. But this car has basically what is now a 1 PIECE body kit. Something is going to flex.

Very nice cars. I have three cars with "body-kits". One of them can be viewed as my avatar.

Yes it looks really quite good as long as you don't open the hood or hatch.

The interior looks OK I think - just tired. Why spend the money on that joke in the hatch and not refresh the engine? or if its all about looks - make the interior particularly nice.

Seems like some odd priorities there - could be a good buy? factor in perhaps a new engine (euro?) & plenty of interior refresh - could be great unique car...
