I have an 85 model and 2 years ago I noticed that the TPS short wiring harness needed replacing, so I ordered one and after having lots of grief installing it went for a test drive. The car was running fine until I decided to floor it and the car went into a boggled down mode, where all power was lost, but as soon as I released the gas pedal it all came back to normal. I have been driving the car with that harness disconnected since !
Before replacing my TPS short harness it was unplugged and running without it, so before undertaking that tedious job on my 85, how can I confirm it's the TPS WOT issue mentioned here ?
NC_growler mentions this:
"Just checked LH points 2 and 3 against 5.

No continuity to ground at any position of throttle for either.

Either the connector has come off the TPS or the TPS is failing. Ordering parts."

How do I do this check from the LH connector with an ohm meter, keep in mind I am not very knowledgeable on checking this stuff !
I place my red wire on pin 2 of the connector and the black on pin 5 ? Same thing for pin 3 and 5 ?
