Prior to starting my new job, the wife surprised me with a set of Cipher Auto seats. The color difference between the tan seats and my champagne interior but is not as quite horrid looking as I thought. Cipher claims the material is 'leatherette' which is a fancy schmancy word for vinyl. I opted to use my Corbeau brackets from my long gone 944 track car I kept 'just in case'.
First off, no Corbeau brackets do not fit Cipher seats. Nevertheless, they serve as a great template to drill new holes for the Cipher sliders. I had to use longer bolts though and shims to raise the seat enough to get the factory hardware to clear between the sliders and the bracket prior to bolting them in.
All in all, I like the seating position as I am not the tallest person in my family. The good news is I sit lower now ever so slightly and the seats weigh about 27-30 lb with brackets making for a good weight savings.
For the color, I have purchased some SEM paint in Palomino color (actually matches Mercedes color #174 Palomino) and a low luster clear to paint the 'leatherette' to a closer color that matches the champagne interior.
I will post more pics when I get home.

And one of the driver side installed. You can clearly see the deviation in color. Not a problem when the seats are resprayed. The carbon fiber back blends nicely with my CF dinoc wrapped interior trim.

Here is another one. I haven't had the chance to take it out in sunlight since I am at work until the sun sets.
I ordered a low luster clear made by SEM to spray on top of the color once I apply it.
To avoid painting over the carbon look rear and seat cushion accent, it will take a ridiculous amount of masking tape and plastic drop cloths. Definitely a project worth taking slow..
