Hi to the masses!
I have an 84 with the A28.01 4 speed transmission.
Can I buy an overhaul kit for a Mercedes-Benz 722.3 transmission?
(Example: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/722-3-Master-...16f869&vxp=mtr )
Will it fit? Is it the same?
I am having a hard time finding a transmission rebuild kit branded specifically for the A28.01.
Any knowledge appreciated.
Thanks for reading.

Contact Greg Brown at Precision Motorwerks in Anaheim, CA. He can supply a parts kit that uses all the latest revised versions of first quality parts from Porsche and MB along with some custom bits to improve the life of your unit. Even better, remove the trans and ship it to Greg for a complete reconditioning. Many here have attempted this rebuild (including lots of 'Mercedes Benz expert' shops) and successful results are in the minority.

Call Greg first. See what he can do for you. I'm in Montreal. I did a complete overhaul of my 89 S4 tranny myself last year. The standard MB kit misses some vital parts. He can supplement those and ship to you. The kit + bands + clutches fit in a rather small box. Stellar service from Precision Motorwerks!
