If it fits an 88, would it not fit through 1991?

It absolutely _may_ fit up through 91 or later. But what I saw was that the PN changed at 89 based on the 928 Intl site :
78-88: 928-101-208-00
89-95: 928-101-208-01

However, looking in PET, the year for the changeover is 86<>87.
'86 is 00
'87 is 01

YMMV

It may have to do with baffle mounting holes or location, but that is speculation. What I do know is that it needs a good home. Takes up too much room on my garage shelf.

I have an 87 and an 89 oil pan in my garage. The only difference I see is they changed the cast to fill in the useless 2 bolt cover In front of the oil level sender.
