Brake Fluid Warning !
Hey gang,
After driving my 87s4 with 130K on the clock a few hours, I get the low brake fluid warning light and flashing !. I checked the fluid and the levels are fine. No signs of leaks either. After turning the car off for a few seconds the ! Goes away. This happened twice on a 200 mile road trip. Once going & once coming home. Turned the car off for a few seconds each time and ! Was cleared. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Did you open the cap and look under the screen?
Are the wires connected properly?
When was the last time you did anything with the brakes?
Is this an auto or 5 speed?

It's an auto. I haven't done a thing to the brakes other than change the wire harness on the passenger side. The connector on the passenger front wheel hub (where the brake pad warning wire plugs into) ground wire was broken.
The wires on the cap are on correctly. Nothing in the screen

are you sure its a low brake fluid indication, since you have done work to the brake sensors its possible the wire has other damage
NOTE the sensor wires are fitted with teflon insulation the wires are quite brittle and can easily be damaged if bent or crushed so a careful inspection of the wires should be done as well as a ground inspection

I just had this happen to me yesterday while washing the car, I drove it a little after I was done and my brake fluid light came on. But just like you said I parked it and turned it off and it went away.
