Odd '79 with $14,900 asking price
How many things strike you as odd about this car?

Nice condition, at least.

many things. First, there is no way to tell if this is a Euro. It doesn't look like it at all, unless the fenders and quarters were replaced (doubtful; I just think the seller does not know anything about 928s). There is enough Armorall in it an on it to fill a tub. The door speakers are aftermarket, it has front and rear spoilers that were add-ons (also note no cutout for brake ducts on front spoiler). Missing timing belt covers, and both cam gears look rusted. It has a homemade hose config coming off the oil filler canister, as the stock part was a complex "Y" shape hose that is nla. Also, the steering wheel is from a later car, an 85 + model, as are the front seats. It appears to have a pod cap; can't tell if there is a dash cap too. The paint looks great, and I can't tell about the wheels. Not sure if they are chromed phone dials or something else.
I think the ask is very optimistic for this car.

Three Wheelin'
The cam gear covers are missing.
Spoilers.
Drivers side headlight needs to be aligned.
No sunroof.
Later model seats and steering wheel.
Intake runners kind of look beefy, Euro maybe?

Spoilers front & rear, door speakers, missing belt covers, odd finish on wheels (but doesn't look bad), wheels might be 15", black plug in right rear fender, missing pedal covers.

Good catches. Some of that I didn't notice.
I could be convinced that the front quarters were replaced to get US markers put in but not the rears. Then again, anything can be done for a price but every Euro I've seen with corner markers has "trailer lights" mounted to the outside of the sheet metal.
Looks like H4s, or at least not US headlights. Right shifter, wrong steering wheel.... The list goes on.
I wonder why they think it's a Euro at all. Maybe a US with RoW bits added and cat removed? Minnesota hasn't had emission inspections in 15 years.

Advanced
Seems like a decent job refreshing an old car. Silver is a great 928 color. Lots of parts are from later cars. The custom speaker enclosure in the doors are better than most aftermarket installs I have seen. I would think the correct parts could be added in short order and make this more appealing. The price is optimistic.

Googling the VIN brings up this prior for sale ad. The linked ad says the mileage is 115,000 approximate, showing 103,000 with a broken odometer. No mention of it being a Euro, which as others have said is doubtful.

It also does not have the rear fog light (didn't see that one mentioned yet).
Doesn't the shifter look slightly shorter (compared to the early tall ones)..?
The jump post cover is missing...
Those aftermarket door speakers are definitely not my cup of tea.
But clearly someone put some time and effort into designing/making those.
I actually like the shiny chrome-like finish on those phone dial wheels.
Perhaps it's due to the combination with the silver colored car.
But that is one of nicer looking phone dial combinations I've seen.

Burning Brakes
Isn't a "2" in the fifth position a US car? If so NOT a Euro with that VIN: 9289201076...not particularly early car either. Like the look of the 944 phonedials in rear though..

Wow,I believe that's the first time I've seen that speaker setup on another 928 other than mine. I believe the company was called Qbox. It's a fiberglass unit that screws to the door panel, but unfortunetely you have to cut a hole in the panel. I replaced my door panels and opted not to reuse them. They also made an 8" subwoofer enclosure that replaces the tool kit panel in the rear. I still use it and it works quite well. Mine had Nakamichi speakers installed, but I don't think they came with them.

Couple things I've noticed not mentioned yet.
What's the gauges or buttons on each side of the clock?
No round **** on the side mirror adjustment "joy stick".
Filler neck on the window washer fluid tank looks to be chewed off by an angry beaver.
Air filter upside down.
Jump post cover wasn't standard on a 79.
