OK, bare with me here, not sure if I have all the correct terms...
While driving, the shifter became inoperative...
Stuck in second gear. After stopping managed to get it into 4th to limp it home.
Undernieth the shift **** boot theirs a shaft connected to the linkage that runs forward, it appears that the front of this shaft has become disconnected from it's anchor point
Need to know how to access the linkage shafts forward mount to reconnect
Anyone of a shop manual for this, or suggestions????
928 INTL actually has the step by step procedure as a sidebar in their catalogs.
I don't have a scanner - It's simple but long- so I can't help you -sorry-.
Maybe someone near you has a copy to lend you or can scan upload and E-you.

It is the shifter ball cup. There is plenty on the subject here. I just did mine and posted the steps in detail. Search under shifter ball cup. BTW there is a neat trick where you use the 928 jack to seat the ball cup. Otherwise it can be quite difficult.
