Default $25k for a '91 S4?

Been watching this one, will someone really pay $25k for 72k mile '91 S4?

Maybe. It's a very nice one.

It's also an "Exotic Dealer" so that pushes the price up a fair amount.

Of course, major price drop for not having a jump post cap or cover.

$25k seems pretty consistent with what they are advertising for here in the UK at the moment with that kind of milage. Not sure how fast they are selling though. A year ago that would have been a lot but prices of old porsches are going up here.

Stripper. Beautiful interior, though. Engine compartment has a deferred maintenance look to it.

I sure hope it gets even more $$ since I'm close to putting my '91 S4 on the market. This one looks very nice to me. Mine has the exact same color combo & only 6500 more miles, being Vin #364 & this one is #371.

If everything were up to date, then it would be worth $25k (if you like blue interiors) IMO. However, it looks like the owner wants more - we'll see (or not).

$25,100 bid now, but hasn't met reserve. Car looks to be in great shape. From my shopping last year, this car would be a bargain versus a lot of American muscle cars and restomods now being sold. Not sure he can pull off the price he's seeking, but I wish him luck.

What is the gizmo behind the window control buttons?

I like the dark blue interior that came on the '90-'91s. I believe its darker than what I've seen on earlier year models. I think it goes very well with the white exterior & I have heard many compliments over the years on mine. I have some wood trim added now which adds a bit more class to it.

5 years down the line and you will have wished you snapped it up for $35k - prices are rising. This is the last of the last S4 automatics before the GTS came along worth way more than $25k. Looks to be in exceptional condition and mostly unmolested. What an awesome car. I wish I had more of my pension liquidated as I would buy them all.

Roger is probably right.

Still, I believe this the fourth time that car has been listed so far this year. None of the previous auctions met the reserve, however none have gone this high.

The disparity in previous bids vs this auction smells fishy to me.

6-Feb not sold at $20.8k
16-Feb not sold at $20.1
25-Feb not sold at $17.3

I've been shopping pretty seriously for a few months now, and my .02 is that it's priced above current market, especially given the lack of specific maintenance detail.

I'm going with Roger's expertise on this one. Not just cause I have skin in the game either.

The 91's are the last of the S4s & only 387(S4s & GTs) were brought in to the US & Canada. How many of those are left? And of those left, how many are in the condition this car is in, had only one owner, & garage kept during its full life? Not many 928s out there of any year that can say that. Gotta be worth something. Four eBay listings in the past 30 days results in high bids of $17.3k; $20.3k; $20.8k; & now at $25.1k(with 9 bidders). Shows there is interest in the car. Perhaps its not a $35k car, but it only takes one buyer & if the dealer/seller is not in a big hurry, they may get nearer to their reserve.

Maybe the mileage isn't 30k, but that's all I see against it from being a very special "Willhoit" kinda Shark. The seller states, "Full service history and meticulously cared for. Just had a PPI done. Every(thing) works including AC and all electronics." Sounds like you would have available all service records since this Shark 1st hit the road & a current ppi. Don't think you could find that much available info on most sharks still on the road. Looks original and unmolested. Unless there is some serious maintenance now due, it might just be a well cared for 24 year old, one owner 928. But you have the maintenance records to know whats done & the ppi to know what's needed.
